Paducah Affordable Art Show

Every year for the past 7 (with one exception right in the middle), Jessica Perkins and I have put on an annual art show for Paducah area artists. The Paducah Affordable Art Show The Affordable Art Show was created with three main goals. First, to showcase work by artists living and working in and around Paducah. Second, to help art appreciators and shoppers realize that there is wonderful affordable art available locally and that you don’t have to empty your wallets to fill your walls. And finally, to bring folks out to a LowerTown or Downtown Paducah gallery for a night of fun, food, wine and art at this fantastic annual party! Beginning in 2012, the Affordable Art Show added the goal of raising money to help support the Paducah Arts Alliance’s Artist in Residency program, with proceeds going to PAA to help continue to bring artists from all over the world to live and work and exhibit and educate in our little city! This year’s sponsors were the Yeiser Art Center, Inkwell Creative Media and me. Food and wine generously provided by the always fantastic Artisan Kitchen. Poster printing donated by our friends at Paducah Printing. Onscreen ad donated by Maiden Alley Cinema. Music during the event was provided by Danny Granstaff, a wonderful improvisational musician. This year’s show was one of our best ever, with approximately 225 visitors and huge sales to benefit the artists and Paducah Arts Alliance. My parents happened to be in town for the event, and helped out by purchasing earrings from me and two of Cricket Alexander’s amazing...
